Data Protection Services, LLC an online backup service provider, announced it successfully certified its operations by completing a Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 Audit. The Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70, Service Organizations is the internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
The SAS 70 Audit recently performed by J. Heath & Company, an independent public accounting firm, analyzed the company’s control over information technology and related processes. Often required by public companies for compliance requirements, the audit certifies that the processes, procedures and general controls used by the company adhere to the industry’s highest standards and practices.
The audit evaluated data center systems and processes, including security monitoring, change management, problem management, backup and environmental controls and logical and physical access.
“We are committed to excellence in every facet of our operations,” said CEO Jeff Danos, “and the SAS 70 audit is one way Data Protection Services demonstrates this to our clients and prospective clients.”
