The beauty of technology is that it is always changing. Some might see this as a negative point, as when things are new they take time to learn, but recent developments are expanding the world and our perceptions of what we can do. Because of all of the advancements in the technology field people are living longer, connecting with others across the globe and making innovations that not only enhance the human way of life but supplement it in ways that were unimaginable only a few short years ago.
With these positives, the negatives are inevitably not too far behind. It’s true, the better technology gets, the better hackers and cybercriminals are at exploiting it. Fortunately, there are steps being taken that will hopefully deter those who feel they can obtain and use other people’s data for sport.
Hard to manage
With each new piece of software or gadget that comes out, there is a team of people behind the scenes ensuring that they are safe as possible from prying eyes and ill will. Unfortunately, it is getting a lot harder to fully protect a device from unwanted hacker attention. According to Datamation, there are many companies around the globe doing their best to mitigate these problems and offer solutions in case the worst outcome should become the reality.
While these businesses are certainly making progress, there is still a long way to go for data protection, as the industry is growing ever more complex by the day. People are getting very crafty with their methods of infiltrating seemingly secure networks and wreaking havoc for enterprises on a massive scale.
The government officials on Capitol Hill are not the only delegates making moves to protect the citizens of the country. Across the Atlantic Ocean, members of the European Union are cracking down on the data protection laws that are in place and supplementing those with more stringent ones.
According to The Financial Times, the laws around data protection in the EU are complicated and convoluted. Each country may have a different set of rules for law breakers and there are many protection agencies that one may have to deal with in the event of a security breach.
It’s important to note that these issues are serious and being handled in some of the highest unions in the world. Even though the government is seeing to these issues, enterprises should ensure that there are correct cloud or online backups in place in the event of an emergency.
